The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo has dumped the party and declared support for the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.
In a tweet on Friday, Ozigbo said he was “100% Obidient,” a term used by supporters of Obi to describe themselves.
He wrote, “I just got off The Arise Interview, where I announced my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and I declared my full support for His Excellency Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
“2023 is a watershed moment for Nigeria, and I must follow my conscience and step out on the side of the light. I have declared on the side of fairness, justice, equity, peace, progress, and inclusion for all.
“I call on all Nigerians to join hands and hearts with the growing youth-driven movement backing Peter Obi’s candidacy so that we can take back our beloved country together.
“I hail the Nigerian youths getting their voices heard in this election cycle. I also celebrate Nigerians of all ages who have rejected the status quo and taken a stand for a New Nigeria under the visionary and inspiring leadership of @PeterObi and Dr Yusuf Datti.”
