Xiaoli (not real name), a Chinese woman from a poor background, who is the oldest child of her family, asked each of her lovers to buy her an iPhone 7, which she resold and bought a house.
The young breadwinner of the family, who took this option as a means to raise money to help sustain her family’s financial needs, kept a relationship with twenty men.
She pleaded with them to buy her the phone as a gift which she in turn sold and bought a house to enable she and her family have comfortable accommodations.
The phones were sold on a mobile phone recycling site called Hui Shou Bao for 120,000 Chinese Yaun.
Her excited friend Qiaoba, shared the story on a Chinese social media platform.
“Everyone in the office is talking about this now, who knows what her boyfriends think now this news has become public,” she said.
“Xiaoli is not from a wealthy home as her mother is a house wife and her dad is a migrant worker. Her parents are getting old and she is the oldest child. She has really done well to secure accommodation for her family. ”
A hash tag which translates to, “20 mobile phones for a house,” quickly began to circulate as many people in China were impressed by the young lady’s expertise and ability to convince the twenty men to buy her a newly launched phone.
One user wrote on the site, “I can’t even find one boyfriend. She can actually find 20 boyfriends at the same time and even get them to buy her an iPhone 7. Just want to ask her to teach me her skills.”
Another praised her enterprising spirit, saying that she “has a bright future.”
There were however people who still felt the act was shameful and condemned her for playing the men into buying her the phones.
