A pastor affiliated with the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church in Rosco, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, Ogun State, along with three other individuals have been apprehended with a human skull in the Saje Area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Herald understands that the arrest took place in the early hours of Saturday, with the four suspects identified as 30-year-old Oyenekan Oluwaseyi, 30-year-old Ibrahim Agbowewe, 40-year-old Suleiman Ogunbunmi, and 57-year-old Gafari Akinsanya.
They were taken into custody by the Ogun State Police Command.
The suspects allegedly admitted their intention to use the human skull for ritualistic purposes.
Their arrest was made possible by a tip-off from concerned members of the public who had observed the suspects’ suspicious movements and activities within the area.
Upon receiving this intelligence, law enforcement officers swiftly descended upon the location and apprehended the individuals.
In addition to the human skull, other items, including a large calabash, a black Toyota Camry car, and a ram, were recovered and subsequently transported to the police station.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests.
She stated that the four suspects had confessed to their involvement in the crime and had revealed their intention to employ the human skull for blessings and money-related rituals.
Investigations are currently underway to uncover further details regarding the incident.
“We arrested the four of them. They have since confessed that they wanted to use the head for blessings and money rituals. The investigations are ongoing to unravel more details about the incident,” Odutola said.
