Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja has disclosed that Olisa Metuh, former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, landed in prison due to his character.
Justice Abang said Metuh was too proud to settle his case with the EFCC even when he was accused of transferring N50 million to his wife.
The judge who presided over Metuh’s trial claimed that he was subjected to humiliations by the ex-PDP spokesman and his lawyers.
The Herald gathered that Justice Abang said Metuh and his lawyers maltreated him while performing his duty.
He also accused Emeka Etiaba (SAN), one of Metuh’s lawyers, of humiliating him by “writing hopeless, reckless and frivolous petitions against the court.”
The judge, however, said he has forgiven Metuh and his lawyers, adding that it was God that saw him through the trial.
