The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has disclosed how the country can rid itself of the Boko Haram scourge.
Sani made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday morning, a week after scores of Nigerian troops of the 157 Task Force Battalion were slaughtered by Boko Haram insurgents in Melete, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) senator, the answer to ending the nine-year-old insurgency cannot be got from outside but within the country.
He said that instead of looking abroad for a solution, the nation should concentrate on adequate funding. equipping and welfare of the troops.
Sani added that social security for family members of the troops, and resilience and faith in the battle will go a long way to end the insurgency than hope for outside help.
He said, “The solution is not in Chad, Cameroun or Niger; It’s also not in Paris, London or Washington. The solution is right here at home; adequate funding, equipping and welfare of our troops; social security and insurance for their families; Resilience and faith in the battle and the struggle.”
