Blues singer, Praiz has revealed why he recorded the Headies-award winning single, Folashade.
In an interview with The Punch published on Saturday, Praiz disclosed that a terrible heartbreak led him to the studio to record the song.
He said, “Folashade was inspired by my last relationship ; I like to write songs based on true life experiences so that a lot of people would be able to relate with the songs . On the day I recorded the song , I was very heartbroken so when I got into the studio, I started making the beat . I produced the song myself . I poured out words that I felt came to me based on the mood I was at the time and when I was done with the song , everyone said it was a nice idea. When it was released , everyone loved it because it was different and I am happy the song got its due acknowledgment . But the girl ’ s name was not Folashade.”
The Herald Nigeria recalls that Folashade earned Praiz the award for Best Vocal Performance (Male) at the Headies Award 2018.
