The death of ace Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi, has continued to dumbfound his friends and colleagues, who can still not come to terms with his loss.
His childhood friend and colleague, Adekola Tijani gave that indication on Monday at the burial of late Afolabi.
The Herald had reported that Afolabi died aged 49 after falling in his bathroom in his Ikorodu, Lagos home on Sunday May 14.
He was buried yesterday, May 15, amid tears by friends, family and well-wishers.
Speaking at the burial ceremony, Tijani disclosed that Afolabi and him were scheduled to attend an interview appointment at the French Embassy in Ikoyi, Lagos on the same day that his friend was buried.
In a video shared by another friend and colleague, Yomi Fabiyi on Instagram, an emotional Tijani said that the deceased lived a simple life and was very down-to-earth.
Tijani, who spoke in Yoruba, added that his friend might have had a premonition of his death, as he sent in his weekly thrift contribution earlier than usual with an explanation that one doesn’t know when he would pass away.
A weeping Tijani recalled that Afolabi had called him on phone offering his clothes for his (Tijani’s) birthday photoshoot.
