My husband made heaven – Ajimobi’s widow

Former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi is now in heaven enjoying with God after his meritorious service on earth, his widow, Florence, has said.

She said that although no longer physically present on earth, the former Oyo State Governor’s spirit lives on as he continued to be remembered fondly by her and many others with whom his path crossed.

Mrs Ajimobi stated this weekend while receiving a delegation of journalists in her home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

She described her late husband as her greatest supporter whose show of love and words of advice gave her enormous strength.

She said that while she missed him greatly, she was comforted by the fact that he lived a fulfilled life.

Mrs Ajimobi said, “I am crying because I miss him. I miss everything about him. I miss his love, his advice. Having him around me was my strength. He was my greatest supporter.

“He thinks I am a strong woman but this time, I tell you I am not a strong woman. He used to give me all the strength I needed as a woman.

“He lived a fulfilled life. What does it profit a man even if he lived up to 90 years and he can’t make heaven? Abiola Ajimobi made heaven and he is at peace with God. That is my greatest consolation. That is my joy.”

The former governor died of COVID-19 complications in a Lagos hospital on June 25.
