The police had nabbed the suspect and his two alleged accomplices, Usman Diko and Usman Umar, at Gufanti Fulani Camp in New Bussa Local Government Area of the state.

They were said to be robbing residents of Wawa in New Bussa LGA when luck ran out on them.

According to reports, the suspects did not go down easily as they engaged the police in a gun battle and were injured in the process.

“ We opened fire to scare them to enable us to take to our heels but unfortunately they wounded one of us during the exchange of gunfire and consequently arrested us .

“ Allah has destined that they will catch us , so there is nothing anybody can do about it . We have accepted our fate, so let the law take its course,” Dikko was quoted as saying by The Punch.

The police said a single – barrel gun and cutlasses were recovered from the suspects, who would be charged to court after conclusion of investigations.
