The police on Tuesday arraigned a housewife, Kate Owunna, 32, who allegedly beat up and poured hot water on her husband’s 17-year-old apprentice, Jude Chinonso in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Owunna, who resides at 87, Capitol Road, Agege, Lagos with assault.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Peter Nwangwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 5, at her residence.
Nwangwu alleged that the defendant assaulted Chinonso, who lives with them, for peeping through the bathroom keyhole while she was taking a bath,
The prosecutor said that when the defendant discovered what Chinonso had done, she became very angry and allegedly beat him up and poured hot water on his left hand.

The apprentice, he said was injured and taken to the hospital by some neighbours.
He said that the case was reported to the police at Isokoko Division by the complainant and the defendant was arrested.
He said the offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Yewande Aje-afunwa, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N 200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Aje-afunwa adjourned the case until Sept. 5 for mention. (NAN)
