Following the revelations from Sokoto state governor, Hon Aminu Tambuwal that he supported Hon Yakubu Dogara to suceed him as the Speaker, House of Representatives over his long time ally and Majority Leader, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, the latter has stated that he has moved on with his life.
It will be recalled that Dogara and Gbajabiamila both vied for the position of Speaker of the 8th Assembly, which Dogara won to the displeasure of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Tambuwal stated this when he received a delegation from Dogara’s constituency, who paid him a thank you visit, said Mr. Tambuwal, who is the immediate past Speaker, said although he had strong affinity with Mr. Gbajabiamila, he, alongside seven other principal officers of the last Assembly, opted for Mr. Dogara.
However, Gbajabiamila, who reacted in an update on his Facebook page, said he has moved on with his life.
“Alhaji Tambuwal has finally spoken. For me I have moved on and I can only wish him the best in his future undertakings”, Hon Gbajabiamila wrote on his Facebook page.
The public admittance of Tambuwal however came as a rude shock to many who believed the former speaker should be the arrowhead of support for the former Minority leader of the 7th House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila stood firm behind Tambuwal in 2011 to become speaker while Dogara opposed his ambition then.
