Stranger Things actress, Millie Bobby Brown deactivated her Twitter after she became subject to some hateful memes portraying her as a homophobe.
The 14-year-old has gained an astonishing amount of popularity in a short time and she is loved by many, which is why it was extremely upsetting to fans when a Twitter user told a fake story about her on Twitter in which she was painted as a homophobe.
The Tweeter said: “It’s time to share my story, One day I saw Millie Bobby Brown in the mall and i asked for a selfie and she said, ‘I don’t take selfies with f-gs, homo sex is sin’ and broke my iPhone X. I couldn’t stop crying I’m so ashamed. #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown”

The Tweeter later said it was only a joke, but the damage had been done and since then Brown was being used in some hateful anti-gay memes

The gay community claimed it was just a joke and was being used as a stand against homophobes, but Brown apparently didn’t find it funny and other Twitter users also pointed out how these so-called jokes could be misconstrued by someone who wasn’t knowledgeable about the context

Unhappy with the way things were going, Brown left Twitter.
She is yet to make an official statement about why she left, but it is believed that this was a huge contributor.
