Founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua has advised Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi not to quit the club.
He gave the piece of advice in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
Messi is currently embroiled in a bitter face-off with the management of the club after he handed in a transfer request.
This is following the 8-2 defeat suffered by Barcelona at the hands of Bayern Munich in the UCL quarterfinals in August.
While the player is seeking to leave as a free agent, the Barcelona board is insisting that any club interested in him must meet the player’s €700 million release clause.
In his Instagram post, Joshua advised the player against leaving with bitterness.
“It is not good advice for Lionel Messi to leave Barcelona bitter and offended. It is impossible to establish a healthy relationship with a person who left a previous relationship bitter and offended. This is my candid advice to Messi. History is our boss,” Joshua said.
Manchester City are believed to be in pole position to land the player should the situation at Barcelona be resolved before the end of the transfer window.
Messi’s former manager at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola is the boss at the Etihad, and has never hidden his admiration for the 33-year-old Argentine.
