A high court in Abuja has removed Ali Modu Sheriff as PDP National chairman.
Justice Valentine Ashi, the presiding judge, nullified the 2014 amended constitution of the PDP through which Sheriff was appointed chairman.
Justice Ashi held that the amendment process of some of the sections of the PDP constitution were against the rules in the electoral act and therefore the positions of Sheriff and other PDP executives were null and void.
The judgment stemmed from a suit filed by Joseph Jero, a PDP member.
Before now, Sheriff and other members of the PDP were deadlocked in a struggle for leadership after Sheriff was initially sacked at the PDP National convention in Rivers State.
This judgment could very well bring an end to all the infighting.
