The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has faulted comments credited to the Defence Minister, Mansur Dan-Ali on herdsmen attacks across the country.
Addressing State House correspondents after last week’s meeting President Muhammadu Buhari held with security chiefs, Dan-Ali had blamed the frequent herdsmen/farmers clashes on the enactment of anti-open grazing laws and the blocking of grazing routes in some states.
However, taking to his verified personal Twitter handle on Sunday afternoon, Sani said the comments would not help in finding a solution to the menace.
Sani, while praising the defence minister’s efforts in combating the dreaded Boko Haram sect, condemned his comments on the herdsmen crises.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator tweeted, “Minister of defense is doing a good job in the north east in the battle against the insurgents. But his attempt to rationalize, justify, interpret or translate the violence and bloodletting in the states affected by armed Herdsmen does not help in the search for viable solution.”
