Zayyanu Shallah, an employee of the Nigerian Communications Commission died in the Jos crisis on Sunday.
NCC shared the sad news on their verified Facebook page on Tuesday.
The statement from the communications body revealed that Shallah, until his death, was a Manager in the Department Of Universal Service and Provision Fund.
“He met his untimely death when they ran into a mob of angry killers suspected to be Birom youths on a reprisal attack against the Fulanis.”
The statement added that Shalla was killed alongside his friend, Zayyanu AA Gwandu, an aide to Senator Adamu Aliero.
“Zayyanu Shalla was killed along with his friend Zayyanu AA Gwandu, and set ablaze,” the statement said.
It added that the two friends were said to be travelling from Bauchi State and, unexpectedly drove into “a carnage of murderers in Jos, en route to Abuja.”
Their remains of the dead have since been buried in Jos according to Islamic injunctions.
