They made the commendation on Saturday in Hadejia while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Buhari’s one year in office.

Malam Ahmad Salisu, a civil servant, said that the administration had performed creditably in curbing Boko Haram insurgency, control spate of armed robbery and other crimes across the country.

He noted that the new approach adopted in the war against insurgency brought about positive results and enhanced peace to the troubled North East and other parts of the country.

“Buhari has demonstrated great commitment to end Boko Haram insurgency, cattle rustling and other forms of violence in the country.

“He implemented positive changes in the security apparatus, which is critical to safeguard lives and property,” Salisu said.

Also commenting, Mr Iliyasu Musa, an activist, commended Buhari over his in roads in international relations.

Musa said that Buhari had achieved tremendous feat in fostering diplomatic ties between Nigeria and its neighbours as well as the EU, U.S. and the international community.

Musa, however, advised the administration to establish conflict and peace resolution agency to deal with ethno-tribal crisis, promote unity and peaceful co-existence in the country.

In his own comments, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) lauded the administration over the deregulation of the petroleum industry.

Adamu noted that the measure would end lingering fuel scarcity, ensure availability and provide lasting solutions to problems bedeviling the oil industry.

“It is imperative to initiate measures to cushion the effects of fuel price increase and check the inflationary trend, ” he advised.

Adamu also called on the administration to adopt proactive measures to address the problem in the power sector and provide job opportunities to youths in the country.

Another resident, Malam Isa Abdulkadir, a farmer, called on the Federal Government to provide fertilizers, seed and inputs to farmers to boost agricultural productivity.

Abdulkadir expressed the need for adoption of effective modalities to ensure actualisation of agricultural development programmes initiated by Buhari.(NAN)
