Unknown gunmen in military uniforms have allegedly invaded the home of the former Chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina in Kaduna.
The gunmen said to be nine reportedly abducted the security guard stationed to guard the house after failing to locate Maina and his mother.
Maina’s mother had reportedly abandoned the property after a similar attack on her son’s house in Abuja.
Daily Trust quoted an undisclosed source as saying, “Assasination squad were sent to Maina’s mother’s house to kill him and his mother and they blasted the door.
“They were about nine of them; four of them entered the house with a 406 and five stayed outside by the gate. All the five were dressed in army uniforms while four were in jeans.
“They hit the security guard and wee shouting ‘where is Maina and where is his mother?’
“They said they want Maina dead. They also said they would kill the security man if he doesn’t show them where Maina and his mother were.
“After that, they broke the front and back doors to the house and ransacked the house and broke the ceiling and walls looking for Maina and his mother but unknown to them, the mother has been away for two months now.
“After they finished with the mother’s house they took the security guard at the house and put him inside the boot of the 406 and handcuffed him and then took him into the bush very far from the town and left him in the bush where some villagers found him lying down still handcuffed and they brought him to Kaduna where he was taken to the police station.
“Meanwhile the police bomb squad and other personnel have been deployed there in the house to comb it in case the criminals planted something sinister or hatch another plan.”
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the attack.
Maina has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of embezzlement running into billions of naira.
