a family in Zakirai village, Gabasawa Local Government Area of Kano State, suffered a violent attack in the early hours of Saturday. Gunmen stormed their residence, abducting a 20-year-old man and amputating his brother’s finger.
According to intelligence reports, the attack occurred around 2:15 a.m. when three armed men wielding rifles and machetes invaded the home of Alhaji Yusha’u Ma’aruf. The assailants amputated the left finger of his 23-year-old son, Abubakar Yusha’u, before kidnapping another son, 20-year-old Mohammed Bello Yusha’u.
In addition to the abduction and assault, the gunmen robbed the household, taking mobile phones and an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene.
Security operatives have since launched a manhunt to rescue the abducted victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident was confirmed by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, noting that security forces are intensifying efforts to restore peace in the area.
