Suspected kidnappers have abducted the father of the former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, Pa Defwan Dariye for the second time since 2015.
Said to be in his 90’s, the Octogenarian was first abducted in 2015 from his residence at Mushere Bokkos local government area of Plateau State.
He was however rescued later at the state boundary with Nassarawa by local vigilantes.
The latest abduction took place in the same way as unknown Gunmen broke into his house and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
A resident of the community, identified as Bulus Gambo confirmed the abduction of the senior Dariye to the Press on Friday.
“The Information is true. It happened in the early hours of Thursday. The old man was just in his house when some gunmen came and took him away,” he said.
An aide to the Chairman of Bokkos Local Government, Magit Mangut Mafiyai also confirmed the incident saying the council chairman, Yusuf Mahanan Machen visited the Dariye residence.

The local government chairman urged security agencies to do their best to rescue the octogenarian from his captors.
Spokesperson for the Police Command in the state, Ubah Ogaba also confirmed that security agents had been dispatched to rescue the senior Dariye.
“As soon as we got the information, the Commissioner of Police led other officers to Bokkos. The security team detailed to go after the abductors have already swung into action and we hope the victim will be released soon,” he said.
Joshua Dariye was the Governor of Plateau State between 1999 and 2007. He is currently serving a ten year jail sentence for corruption and breach of public trust.
