Unconfirmed reports indicate that top Nigerian daily, the Guardian, have fired their MD Mr Emeka Izeze as well as the company’s executive consultant, Lade Bonuola and two other consultants.
This is due to the economic crunch that is gripping the nation. It has already affected the banking sector with many major banks forced to let go of a lot of their staff, it seems the world of print media has been hit too.
Not only that but according to PM news, 100 other workers have also been pencilled down for the chopping block in the coming days.
Mr. Izeze had been Guardian’s managing director/editor-in-chief for over a decade and in the last two years watched the position get split making him managing director while Debo Adeshina was named editor-in-chief.
He also worked as an editior with the newspaper.
