Customers of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) have taken to social media to pour out their frustrations after they experienced difficulty in making transactions on Monday Jan 20, 2020.
Some of the error messages customers got from the bank app include “No account for this user”, “Your email could not be verified.”
Meanwhile, customers who were at the counter to withdraw cash encountered the same problem as they were told the bank server was down.
GTBank’s ATM galleries all over Nigeria were filled with stranded customers who were photographed in uncomfortable postures while waiting for the bank’s network to be restored.
Insiders told The Herald that the Core banking App which was upgraded Sunday evening had a malfunction causing difficulty in transactions on Monday.
The bank users have since taken to the streets of Twitter to lament over the bank and its poor server.

Used my last 150 to transport to the bank got there couldn’t withdraw. I sat inside the bank looking for tears. Had to beg 100 to transport back home and did the rest on foot couple with the fact that I’m heavy..
