Pan-Nigeria group, Nigeria Unity Forum (NUF) has said it would amount to injustice if National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu pursued his rumoured presidential ambition in 2023.

The group said the same applied to other Western and Northern leaders.

According to the forum, Ndigbo should be allowed to produce the next president for the sake of justice and equity.

Secretary-General of NUF, Digifa Gabriel signed a Tuesday statement conveying the group’s stance.

He said it would amount to insensitivity and indifference to the plight of the Igbo that have not produced the president if Tinubu and other Western and Northern leaders announce their presidential ambitions.

To demonstrate its commitment in this regard, NUF said it would criss-cross the length and breadth of Nigeria after COVID-19 pandemic to canvass the support of key stakeholders to support the cause of Ndigbo for the 2023 presidency.

It said the major political parties should do the needful by zoning their presidential tickets to the South-East geopolitical zone.

In the same vein, Spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu said that while the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation remained dedicated to restructuring of Nigeria, it was in support of an Igbo man succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 for the sakeof justice and equity.
