A group under the aegis of the Association of Umudiana-Ndi Nnewi Movement, Anambra state chapter, has called for the release of the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah from the Department of State Services, DSS, custody.
The group which threatened to on a hunger strike if the DSS fails to release the businessman made its dissatisfaction known in a statement issued and signed by Prince Iwuchukwu Victor and Comrade Ejiofor Igboegwu, the chairman and secretary of the association.
The association which pointed that it was not out of law for the DSS tro investigate the businessman but his continued detention is injustice further urged the Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership, youth associations, human right groups and student union associations to rise and fight the great injustice and misuse of power on Ubah.
The group in the statement released said: “It is unfortunate that Dr Ubah’s contributions to the economic wellbeing of this nation through creation of employment for thousands of Nigerians could so easily be forgotten by the powers that be. Our brother, Ubah never deserved the treatment he is being given by his accusers.”
