The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has cried out over the claim that there is a grand conspiracy by some individuals to tear Rivers state apart.
The Governor made this cry while addressing the leaders of Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday.
Governor Wike however promised that those behind the plot to tear the state apart will fail as he will confront them.
He said: “There is a grand conspiracy against Rivers State. But I don’t know in whose interest. I believe in the unity of this country, therefore I will continue to work for its development and security”.
The Governor also alleged that the security of the state has been compromised as some deadly suspects arrested by security operatives on ground have been released through the intervention of the security agencies’ headquarters.
He however noted that despite the challenges, his administration has strived to provide an enabling environment for the development of the state.
He reiterated his commitment to taking the state to a higher plane of development while assuring PETAN of partnership and support from his administration to set up facilities in the state especially aimed at job creation.
