Muslim majority in China’s Xinjiang region have been placed under a new directive from the government following the high incident of religious restiveness in recent years.
The Chinese Government as part of its move to curb excesses introduced the new ‘Regulations on Extremisation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region’ which places a ban on ‘abnormal’ beards among Muslim men and wearing of veils among women in public places.
The Chinese government further outlawed refusal to watch or listen to state media has also been outlawed
The new rules which takes effect as from April 1 states: “Parents should use good moral conduct to influence their children, educate them to revere science, peruse culture, uphold ethnic unity and refuse and oppose extremism.”
Workers in public places will henceforth take stand against women wearing veil or fully covering their bodies.
