Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Edo State Governor, Governor Monday Okpebholo, visited the Torankawa community in Kano on Monday to console the families of the 16 victims brutally killed in Uromi, Edo State. The visit demonstrated the commitment of both states to ensuring justice for the slain individuals.
Governor Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and demanded swift prosecution of those responsible. He assured the families that the government would not relent until justice was served. “This visit is not just about condolence; it is about reaffirming our commitment to justice. The families of these victims deserve more than words—they deserve action.”
Governor Okpebholo also assured the families that security agencies were making progress in the investigation and that justice would be swift. “I want to personally assure you that we are treating this case with the urgency it deserves. Edo is home to all Nigerians, and this kind of violence will not be tolerated.”
The visit was well-received by the community, with leaders expressing appreciation for the governors’ swift intervention. The Emir of Kano, His Highness Amb. Muhammad Isa Umar, commended the two governors for their efforts in handling the tragic incident. The Kano State Government reaffirmed its resolve to continue monitoring the case until justice is fully served.
