Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Saturday confirmed five new coronavirus cases in the state.
The Governor made the announcement on his official twitter page via a series of tweets on Saturday night.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who is also the Chairman of the COVID-19 task force committee in the state said that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state is 64 following the five new cases.
He tweeted: “OYO STATE COVID-19 TASK FORCE UPDATE (MAY 09, 2020)
1. The COVID-19 confirmation tests for five suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from the following Local Government Areas: Ibadan North (2), a foreigner in Surulere, Ibadan North East (1) & Ibadan South West (1).
So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is sixty-four.
