Cosmos Ndukwe, the Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor Theodore Orji, was pelted uncontrollably with pure water sachets at the Enyimba Stadium whilst being simultaneously booed by a crowd angry at his presence.
Ndukwe was present at the stadium for a CAF match fixture between Enyimba International of Aba and Real Bamako of Mali. He had stood up before the match to assess the crowd who had booed his boss in 2012 and also pelted him sachet water during a State function in 2012.
Ndukwe reportedly wanted to test if the popularity of his administration had improved since then and got more than what he bargained for as he was forced to return to his seat soaked, with even some of his own security detail chuckling at what had just transpired.
People at the stadium told reporters that Orji’s government would continue to be unpopular until it fixed critical infrastructure in the state such as roads and delivered the dividends of democracy to the people.
