1 Min Read

The Gombe State Government has approved the rejection of the Personal Protective Equipment donated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and the North-East Development Commission, NEDC.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Gombe State Task Force on COVID-19, Prof Idris Mohammed, who stated that the equipments donated by the NCDC and the NEDC were incomplete and substandard.

The chairman who disclosed this on Friday during a daily briefing on the progress of combating COVID-19 in Gombe State, stated that the items were referred to the governor to acknowledge receipt and accompanied with the rejection letter.

Mohammed said;

“Yesterday (Thursday), we announced that some Personal Protective Equipment donated by the NCDC and the North-East Development Commission were substandard and so we are rejecting them.”

“As you can see, there is no face mask, no hand gloves. We have just gowns and we would need to buy the items that are missing.”
