Gombe car crash not an accident; the driver intentionally ran into our procession – Survivors

2 Min Read

Survivors of the  Easter Monday tragedy that killed 9 members of the  Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Boys’ Brigade have dismissed the police report that the incident occurred as a result of brake failure.

The driver of the car was also said to be an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamu Abdullahi.

Herald Nigeria learnt that NSCDC official had wanted to drive through the procession, but was prevented by the brigade, which had blocked a lane on the road.

He was eventually allowed to go, but he was disgruntled over the initial action of the group.

After dropping off the occupants of the car, Abdullahi allegedly returned to the procession, switched off the headlamps of the vehicle and rammed into the group, killing nine people on the spot, and injuring 30 other.

A member of the ECWA Boys’ Brigade, Michael Adeniran, confirmed that Abdullahi, a corps assistant, drove an official car of the NSCDC.”

Also corroborating the story, one of the survivors, Zakaria Ibrahim, and the ECWA Secretary, Elias Tstakis, agreed that the action was premeditated

The angry mob was said to have pounced on the two men and beat them to death.
