Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the announcement by President Muhammadu Buhari that the National Assembly tampered with vital projects and diverted N578 billion to finance constituency projects they introduced into the 2018 budget.
Buhari had made the disclosure while signing the budget in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.
Many Nigerians who reacted to the news on social media berated the National Assembly members for the action.

dplordx Most of these projects are so patheticly elementary that a common financially stable individual can donate. Even some former beauty queens and youth corners are donating bigger projects. If these are the dividends of the house of assembly and reps, despite the obscene amounts of funds it cost to run it. meromero11 The issue is not just reading about this looting strategy by the national assembly members but stopping them from actualizing this very fraudulent act in the budget. PMB can only inform the public about such but he cannot stop them. Only the people can stop them. Everyone should join hands with trakka or any other NGO in fighting corruption by whatever means.
