French President, Emmanuel Macron has conferred on Globacom Chairman, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr the award of Commander of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest national honour.
At the bestowment in Lagos on Thursday evening, Macron described Adenuga as a “true role model for Africa”.
Macron conferred the award at the brand-new Alliance Francaise, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Adenuga’s daughter, Bella Disu, had conceived and executed the Alliance Francaise project which the French president commissioned in Lagos on Thursday.
At the event, Macron lauded the Adenugas for promoting French culture and language in Nigeria.
Adenuga, who owns one of Nigeria’s largest telecommunication networks, currently holds Nigeria’s second highest honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) and Ghana’s highest civil award, the Companion of the Star of Ghana (CSG).
