The Managing Director, Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Dr Kabiru Adamu, on Saturday cautioned workers of the bank against issuing loans to farmers who cannot pay back.
‘‘Make sure you disburse loans to farmers that will pay back. If you give loans to farmers that cannot pay back it means that the bank will collapse.’’
Adamu advised the workers to strictly verify and ensure that only real farmers who can pay back loans were granted the facility.
The managing director, who was on familiarisation visit to the bank’s operational office in Minna assured the workers of improved condition of service.
He however charged them ensure quality service delivery to clients.
‘‘We want to make you (workers) happy, but put in your best, we want you to be hard working to earn your promotion.
‘‘When you are given any assignment make sure you are committed; that is the only way we will succeed,’’ Adamu said.
The managing director also enjoined the workers to notify the management of all operational challenges to ensure prompt action.
Earlier, the Branch Manager, Malam Nasirudeen Abubakar, pledged that the workers were ready to deliver on the bank’s mandate.
‘‘We will put in our best if we are provided with the necessary facility,’’ he added.
Also, Mrs Rakiya Bako, Head of Operations at the Minna branch, appealed to the management of the bank to look into the condition of service and promotion of staff. (NAN)
