A girl has hanged herself after she found she had mistakenly sent a Snapchat message to her boyfriend in which she admitted cheating on him.
The 17-year-old college student had intended to send the message to her friend but accidentally sent it to her 20-year-old boyfriend instead.
After realising her mistake, Charlotte Guy sent another message to her boyfriend, Jack Hurst, saying “Goodbye. Please forgive me,” and a final one: “I love you — knowing that you hate me is enough.”
Afraid for Guy’s safety, the boyfriend, Jack Hurst, immediately contacted police to relate the situation to them, and was able to pinpoint her position using her Snapchat account.
But before police could send help to the location in Wigan, Greater Manchester, Guy, who worked at a local fitness centre, had hanged herself in the incident of September 24, 2017.
An inquest heard the healthcare student at St John Rigby College in Wigan had taken cocaine while under the influence of alcohol.
