Ghana’s Information Minister, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid announced on Thursday that the Ghanaian national football association has been dissolved following the viral video showing the association’s President Kwesi Nyantakyi receiving bribe from journalist posing as investors.
Speaking on the dissolution of the association, the information minister said, “Ghana has decided to dissolve its national football association a day after officials, including the body’s president, were shown in a documentary taking kickbacks.”
The viral video which was shown on BBC had footage of the association’s president asking journalists posing as investors to pay him $11 million to help bribe key government officials to secure contracts.

An AFP correspondent also said, “He asked them to pay him $11 million to help grease the palms of key government officials to secure contracts. Other Ghana FA executives were also filmed accepting bribes influencing player selection for various national teams.”
About 15 referees were also caught on camera accepting $100 (85 euros) to rig Ghana Premier League matches.
