German chemical giant BASF, on Tuesday donated more than 100 million protective masks to help Germany in its fight against the novel coronavirus, the company said.

According to the Chairman, BASF’s board of Executive Directors, Martin Brudermueller, an emergency situation such as this can only be managed by everybody.
“We are therefore using our purchasing networks and logistics in China to help.
“We will cover the costs of purchasing the masks in the Asian country and having them shipped to Germany.
“The first delivery is expected to arrive at the Frankfurt airport early next week.
“The company has also distributed around 150,000 litres of hand sanitiser to hospitals and other health care facilities in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and around other BASF sites,“ Brudermueller said.
