The adopted candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, shared Tecno F1 phone to some newly elected lawmakers during a solidarity meeting on Thursday.
The meeting had in attendance 178 incoming lawmakers drawn from various political parties
Speaking during the address, one of the lawmakers, Mr. Omofiok Luke from Akwa Ibom state said, “We decided to convene ourselves as newly-elected members of the House of Representatives to look at the emergence of the next leadership of the 9th Assembly and in doing so, we looked through the antecedents and credentials of those who are aspiring to lead the National Assembly.

“We acknowledge the fact that this country today, with the challenges that we have, that we need a bipartisan approach to solve the problem of Nigeria.
Luke said Gbajabiamila, “has shown that credibility, capacity” to lead the House.
But at the end of the first meeting, Gbajabiamila led the members-elect to address a press conference after the meeting, and each of them was seeing handling a phone, which some of them gave to their orderlies and aides to hold.
The phone, Techno F1, is worth between N18, 000 to N20, 000.
An aide to one of them, who spoke to The Punch on the condition of anonymity, said it was a souvenir shared at the meeting.
