The Welshman believes the playing alongside the best player in the world will take his game to the next level.
Bale voiced that opinion briefly at his unveiling earlier this week but in an interview with BT Sport, he paid due respect to the man who, in terms of transfer value at least, is his subordinate.
He said: ‘If you’re training and playing with the best players it can only rub off well on you.
‘And Cristiano Ronaldo for me is the best player in the world. He’s got everything as a footballer.
‘I’m going to be training with him and watching what he does and in games playing with him and learning off the best player. For me I can only see one way to go — and that’s for me to improve.
‘I’ve got a great manager (Carlo Ancelotti), great coaches (ZinedineZidane), the best of everything at Real Madrid.
‘That’s exactly what I thought when they were interested. When you have the best you are going to learn and become a better player.’
he also feels that he is more than capable of adapting to life at the Bernabeu than he was when he moved to spurs because he is older – and English will be spoken in the dressing room.
‘Daniel (Levy) wanted an unbelievable deal for me to move because he thought I had a high value,’ said Bale. ‘When I go into training, I’m going to be excited. But I’ll feel very unsettled as I won’t know anyone.
‘When I moved to Tottenham I knew no-one, but going to Madrid I know Luka Modric very well so hopefully he’ll help me settle in — there are a few who speak English like Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, the manager and the coach.
‘It will be a lot easier than when I was younger. I’m a lot more experienced. I know full well I’ll need to impress everybody and hopefully I do.’
