The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that the 1,464,768 votes President Muhammadu Buhari secured in the February 23 presidential election in the state would be fewer than what he will garner in the gubernatorial election.
Ganduje, who is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this known shortly after casting his vote at the Ganduje Chikin Gari polling unit at about 10.30 am.
The governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for commencing the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections early in the state.
Ganduje also lauded residents for the impressive voter turn-out and for conducting themselves in peaceful and orderly fashion.
The governor assured that he would secure a second term in office following his impressive performance across all the 44 local governments in the state, urging his party members to endeavour to deliver their constituencies.
