Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has relaxed the lockdown order in the state to enable residents prepare for the annual Ramadan fast.
State residents are expected to take advantage of the lockdown relaxation, from 6 am Thursday to 12 midnight Friday to make all necesary errands ahead of the holy fast.
Kano Deputy Governor, Dr Nasir Yusuf Gawuna who spoke on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at a Press briefing held at the state Government house disclosed the lockdown relaxation would ensure residents are able to stockpile ahead of Ramadan fast.
Gawuna said: “In view of preparation for Ramadan period, the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has relaxed the ongoing lockdown.
“Following this, the state government has relaxed the ongoing lockdown from 6 am-12 pm on Thursday, to enable people buy necessary foodstuffs and items needed for Ramadan period which would commence on Friday.”
