Galatasaray are working on securing two lucrative sponsorship deals from China to finance a permanent transfer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Osimhen, who has excelled on loan at the Turkish Süper Lig champions, has scored 12 goals in 15 appearances.
After being sidelined at Napoli, Osimhen made a surprising move to Galatasaray, following unsuccessful transfer negotiations with Chelsea and Al-Ahli during the summer window. The Nigerian international is enjoying his time in Istanbul and is open to a permanent transfer. However, a €75 million release clause in his contract currently makes this move challenging. Galatasaray’s highest transfer fee to date is the €18 million spent on Gabriel Sara from Norwich City last summer.
Turkish outlet Fanatik reports that Galatasaray are working behind the scenes to raise the necessary funds for what seems like an improbable deal. Two significant sponsorship agreements from China are being negotiated as the Turkish side aim to fend off competition from Manchester United to sign Osimhen. Chelsea may also renew their interest after the breakdown in talks last summer.
Manchester United are considered Galatasaray’s main rivals in the race to secure Osimhen’s signature, as the Red Devils seek a high-profile signing under new head coach Ruben Amorim. With their current forwards Rasmus Hojliund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for goals, Osimhen is seen as a potential key addition to rejuvenate the club’s prospects.
Interestingly, both Galatasaray and Manchester United are also interested in Randal Kolo Muani. Paris Saint-Germain are looking to offload the French international next month, and both clubs are open to a deal.
