The much-publicized Tyson Fury – Wladimir Klitschko fight has finally come and gone, with the British fighter winning the bout by unanimous decision.
As expected, accolades have started pouring in for the 27-year-old, one of which is from former Super Eagles captain Kanu Nwankwo.
Though the former Arsenal man made his name as a footballer, the feverish build-up to the game and the class of the fighters involved, made him stay up all night to watch the bout.
Just after the game, the Olympic Gold medallist tweeted: “It’s all over. Whatever you put your mind and your heart, and you pray you get. Congratulations, Fury. World champion.”
Fury had won the encounter 115-112, 115-112, 116-111.
With his defeat of the 39-year-old Ukrainian who had not been defeated since 2004, Fury is now the WBA, IBF and WBO champion.
