The news comes as a delightful surprise for audiences who have followed the hilarious journey of Jenifa, a character created by Akindele herself. The original “Jenifa” film premiered in 2008 and was followed by a sequel, “Return of Jenifa,” in 2011. The franchise’s enduring popularity led to the creation of the television series “Jenifa’s Diary” in 2015, which further expanded the character’s world. In 2019, another spin-off series titled “Aiyetoro Town” delved deeper into Jenifa’s backstory.
