The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will be boycotting the 2019 general elections in all the states of the South East and South South geo-political zones.
The Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Emma Powerful, made this known on Friday, adding that a march was held across some states to restate the group’s readiness to boycott the elections and also express their happiness at the re-emergence of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Recall that Kanu went missing in September 2017 after the military laid seige on his Afaraukwu, Abia State country home and resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel in October 2018.
According to Powerful, “Biafrans are equally today (Friday) showcasing to the world that we are ready to boycott every Nigerian elections come 2019 especially presidential election next year…IPOB rally and march today November 23, 2018 is ongoing in all the states across Biafraland like Rivers, Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Imo, Ebonyi, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and other Biafra clans and tribes fraudulently caved into Kogi, Benue and Edo states.”
