Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde has been invited by the Ogun State police after a gun shot fired by his band member at a show in Ago-Iwoye fatally injured a female undergraduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

The female Business Education student of OOU identified as Azeez Koforola, was reportedly shot in the early hours of Sunday. The victim had been admitted into the State General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, where she was currently receiving treatment.

Confirming the report, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the victim was hit by a stray bullet where she sat inside a Honda car beside the NASFAT building opposite Limelite Hotel in the town, where K1 had performed from Saturday night till dawn.

“At about 1am on Sunday, beside NASFAT building, opposite Limelite Hotel, Ago Iwoye, Azeez Koforola, while sitting inside an unregistered Honda Accord car, was reportedly hit by a bullet shot by King Wasiu Ayinde’s entourage,” he revealed.

He added, “The car belongs to one Hassan Afeez, a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The bullet entered through the right hand side of rear door of the car and hit the victim on her right bottom.”

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, had directed that Wasiu Ayinde should be invited for interrogation.

However, the owner of Limelite Hotel, Mr. Sesan Rufai, who said he invited K1, other musicians and comedians to perform at his hotel, denied that anyone was shot at the musical show. He said the show was hitch-free, stating that eminent personalities attended the show
