FUD, Katsina, Seeks To Collaborate With ABU on Agriculture, Security

2 Min Read

The Federal University, Dutsinma (FUD), in Katsina State, on Monday solicited collaboration with Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria on agriculture and security.

Prof. ArmaYa’u Bichi, its Vice Chancellor, made this known during a visit to Prof Kabir Bala, Vice-Chancellor of ABU, on Monday in Zaria.

Bichi, who was represented by a six-member delegation led by Prof. Aminu-Dalha Kankiya, Director, Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, said that FUD, as a new university, would benefit immensely from the collaboration.

Bichi said that FUD considered ABU as its mother because a good number of its academic and non-teaching staff were from the institution.

He said that the mother-daughter relationship between ABU and FUD would continue to exist and expressed hope that the ties would benefit both institutions in the long run.

In his remarks, Bala assured the FUD delegation that ABU would give the newly established university the necessary support to succeed.

He said that it was understandable that FUD was collaborating with ABU given the institution’s strength in the study of agriculture and the size of its security outfit.

“I can clearly understand the wisdom of FUD in seeking collaboration with ABU in these two areas.

“We will be happy to see that your new university succeed in its determination to lay a solid foundation,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor, who also assured FUD that ABU’s agric complex and security division would help FUD, said that ABU had been mandated by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to nurture FUD. (NAN)
