FRSC Targets 25% Reduction In Road Crash Fatality In 2016

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has disclosed the corps’ resolve to ensure that road traffic crashes are reduced by 15 percent and fatality by 25 percent.

Oyeyemi made this known in Abuja while addressing journalists as part of events making the 2015 end-of-the-year activities and the 2016 Strategic Goals of the Agency.

According to him, the agency was better positioned to ensure that it fulfilled its mandate of keeping Nigerians safe on the roads.

Outlining the agency’s plans for the New Year, the Corps Marshal said: “In 2016 we will  focus  on  improvement of fleet operations and sustenance of consultation with stakeholders, collaboration with States to improve road safety administration and improve on public education and aggressive enforcement of traffic regulations.”

To achieve its plans for the year, he stated that the agency would embark on training its traffic and Vehicle Inspection officers both within and outside the shores of the country to boost their efficiency.

Also, Oyeyemi was full of praise for the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Air Force, the media and members of the public for collaborating with the agency in the past year which greatly enhanced the execution of its plans and fulfilment of its mandate.
