The Super Eagles on Wednesday thrashed Akwa United of Uyo, 3-0 in a friendly match to prepare the national team for the Nations Cup qualifying match against Tanzania.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigeria/Tanzania match would be played on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.
The friendly was played at the Akpabio stadium.
Greece based striker, Brown Ideye, opened scoring for the Eagles in the 28th minute while midfielder, Nosa Igiebor scored the second goal in the 38th minute.
Watford FC of England striker, Odion Ighalo, scored the third goal when he converted a penalty kick in the 70th minute.
The match witnessed the introduction of the trio of Captain Mikel Obi, Trust Ekong and Victor Moses in the second half.
NAN also reports that the Akwa Ibom Sport Commissioner, Monday Uko, the Special Duties Commissioner, Etido Inyang and the Akwa United FC Chairman, Paul Bassey were among dignitaries that watched the match.
Bassey, Akwa United Chairman, later told NAN that the encounter was a good match.
He said that the Super Eagles players were more exposed than the Akwa United team and wished the national team success in the forthcoming continental encounter.
