Some angry Nigerians took to the street yesterday to demand the removal of the Central Bank of Nigeria. CBN’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele from office.
The angry protesters numbering about 100 took to the streets of Abuja to express their dissatisfaction over rising inflation and a falling currency.
The youth protesters along with their placards and banners marched to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s headquarters in Abuja to register their grievances.
They accused the CBN governor of being incapable in the face of the continuous slip in value of the nation’s currency in the international market.
They also noted that Emefiele has filed to drag Africa’s biggest economy and energy producer out of recession.
Some of the placards read, “Emefiele must go”, another, “Where is your conscience, Emefiele?”.
The protesters were however dispersed by men of the Nigerian police and Nigerian Army.
